Editorial & Review Policy

Every formula traceable, every page verifiable — our full quality pipeline

Last updated: August 2025

Tiered Data Sources

We only use traceable primary sources, applied by authority tier. Content involving national standards, tax rates, medical reference values or physical constants follows the latest official publications, disclosed in each page’s "Source & Updates" section.

TierSource TypeExamplesUsage Rule
T0Statutes & official bulletinsIncome tax law, labor law, central bank LPR announcementsSole basis for policy content; labeled with applicable year
T1National/international standardsGB/T, WHO, health authorities, IRS, IUPACDefault convention for reference values and constants
T2Primary academic formulasMifflin-St Jeor, CKD-EPI 2021, Black-Scholes papersImplementations follow the original papers, with year noted
T3Industry conventionsBank mortgage conventions, renovation waste ratesReference only, always labeled as "rule of thumb"

Four-Step Review Process

Every calculator and guide must complete this pipeline before launch — no exceptions:

  • Research: locate the highest-tier source for each formula (T0/T1/T2) — no second-hand reposting; coexisting conventions (e.g. Chinese vs WHO BMI cutoffs) are all included in scope
  • Implementation: cover edge cases (zero, negatives, extremes) and unit conventions, with worked calculation steps
  • Verification: the review team cross-checks results against an independent reference implementation and spot-checks every official table value
  • Publication: review date (lastReviewed) and sources are disclosed; the page enters the re-review queue

Triple Verification

  • Formula correctness: cross-verified against at least one independent authoritative source (e.g. mortgage payments checked against both the annuity formula and actual bank conventions)
  • Edge cases: zero, negatives, extreme values, leap years and month-end overflows tested individually
  • Unit conventions: metric/imperial/Chinese-unit conversion factors exact to official definitions (e.g. 1 troy oz = 31.1035 g)

Real Review Cases (Excerpt)

Concrete examples tell the standard better than abstract promises:

  • Retirement age calculator: implements the 2025 delayed-retirement reform with separate algorithms for three worker groups, with per-month delay caps verified
  • BMI calculator: Chinese (24/28) and WHO (25/30) cutoffs shown side by side — no single-convention misleading
  • Housing fund calculator: contribution bases and loan caps for 12 cities updated per annual bulletins, uniformly labeled "subject to local announcements"
  • Year-end bonus tax: separate vs combined taxation compared, with bracket-cliff points at 36k/144k/300k CNY flagged
  • Open API: physical-range tolerance on height/weight inputs (175 auto-treated as centimeters) — preventing "successful but wrong" responses from misleading callers

Content Structure Standards

Every calculator page must ship a complete set of content blocks — no bare tools:

  • Quick answer: the core conclusion with typical values in one paragraph
  • How to use: unambiguous step-by-step instructions
  • Key points: real formula takeaways, never filler text
  • Principles & formulas: derivation and applicability conditions
  • FAQ: at least 4 genuine high-frequency questions
  • Reference tables: official standards or authoritative ranges
  • Related tools & guides: strongly relevant on-site links
  • Source & updates: review date and citations disclosed

Periodic Re-Review Cadence

Correction Workflow

User corrections are our highest-priority feedback:

  • Intake: submit via QQ / WeChat on the contact page — include page URL, your inputs, expected vs actual result
  • Acknowledgement: human reproduction and reply within 48 hours
  • Fix: confirmed issues corrected immediately, with the page review date updated
  • Root-cause: sibling tools audited for the same class of error; the re-review queue is backtracked when needed
